The most remarkable part of the complex is the temple “St. Petka of Bulgaria”, built at the idea and with personal funds of Vanga in the 90s. Surrounding it are her house, a museum hall, a park with ponds, as well as the monument and the large sculptural cross that commemorates the memory of those who died in the ancient eruption. The site is kept in excellent condition, with paths, shaded areas and information signs.

We visit the “Vanga” complex, set amidst natural silence and mineral springs, where every corner carries a message. We trace the history of the St. Petka Bulgarian temple, built with Vanga’s personal funds and consecrated after years of hesitation by the church. We see her monument, the exhibition hall with archive footage and enter the little house where she lived. We cross shaded alleys and end at the Cross, a monumental structure created by donations and the efforts of the people to perpetuate the memory of those who died in the ancient eruption. The energy of the place can’t be captured on video, but it is felt in every step.
