Operator registration
- Every operator of a drone over 250g or with a camera must register with the national aviation authority of their country. For Bulgaria this is the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Administration (DG CAA).
- The operator registration number must be marked on the drone.

Training and certification
- For A1/A3, an online course (training) and successful completion of a test is required.
- For A2, what is listed in A1/A3 plus an additional theory and practical test at a certified organisation is required. For Bulgaria this is the DG CAA.
