Construction began back in 1248 and continued intermittently for 632 years, only to be officially completed in 1880. Its architecture is meticulous down to the last detail, from the stained glass windows to the openwork towers that can be seen from miles away. Inside, priceless relics are kept, including the gilded ark with the relics of the Three Magi.
