We tell about their geological history, which has its origins in a shallow lake that existed 3-5 million years ago in today&#8217;s Sandansko-Petri\u010dka valley. We show how the pyramids were formed by loose sandstones and erosion processes. We cross the hiking trail that runs through the most popular area &#8211; from Rozhen Monastery to the panoramic point. We include the sand tunnel to the village of Lyubovishte, the church of St. Cyril and Methodius&#8221; with the grave of Yane Sandanski, and enter the Rozhen Monastery &#8211; a medieval monastery with a long and dramatic history.
