The &#8220;Septemvriytsi&#8221; monument rises on an open plateau with a panorama of the Iskar River &#8211; a tall and angular silhouette with the incised figure of an insurgent and stylized architecture typical of the mid-20th century. A dozen meters away is the metal cross &#8211; erected by the local community in memory of climbers who died on these rocks. A path descends below them to the &#8220;Dark Hole&#8221;, an impressive cave with an iron portal and a warning sign. The site doesn&#8217;t offer easy access to the underground, but combines impressive views, historical value and natural mystery.<\/p>\n<p>The route passes through the Septemvritsi Monument, the Cross and the Dark Hole Cave. Access by car almost to the summit and on foot along an eco-trail is described. It tells the story of four participants in the September Uprising who were shot in the area and their 1954 memorial in the shape of a soldier&#8217;s kape with relief. The cross was restored in 2001 by local people and honours the climbers who died in the area. The Dark Hole cave is presented as one of the longest in Bulgaria &#8211; over 7 km long and with many underground branches, accessible only to the prepared. There are no shops or infrastructure here &#8211; just silence, wind and footsteps echoing off the rocks.
