The rock, about 300 metres long, is dotted with carved grooves, circles and openings that some researchers believe are astronomical instruments or ritual devices. From the top, a 360-degree panorama of the Rhodope Mountains opens up, a landscape that gives the feeling of a supreme vantage point. The site is reached on foot &#8211; through a pine forest, along a steep but clear path. All around the rock there is a sense of silence, even when there are visitors.
